While approaching close to the 20th century, almost every aspect of living in the United States needs reform and improvement. Living conditions and public safety concerns lead to an increase in activism for reform. Many women have participated in activism as well for social reforms. Some fought for suffrage and social equality while others exposed the corruption of different organizations and massive corporations for reforms and changes to improve these conditions.
